You Can't Order A Dodge Viper Anymore
According to a report from R&T, this is the last year that Dodge Vipers (which is owned by Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) - Get Report ) have sold out. They're done. Kaput. Finito.
Considering this was the last year that you could order them, it comes as no surprise that it was announced today at the Chicago Auto Show that this year's Viper production run is officially sold out.
There are still a number of Vipers available on car lots, they've just sold out for custom ordering. When it was announced that 2017 would be its final year, Dodge was met with a huge influx of orders for the iconic car. While we can still be sad for the loss of the great American sports car, we can expect to see some iteration of it down the line. The nostalgia market is a strong one, ensuring that fan favorites across the board will be revived and updated to better fit the times while retaining what made them so great in the first place.
Farewell Dodge Viper, we hardly knew ye.
