Yellen Speech, Notable Earnings: What to Watch on Wall Street Feb. 24
On Tuesday, February 24th Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen is scheduled to testify before the Senate Banking Committee. Yellen's semi-annual testimony is expected to detail the Fed's latest guidance that it will be 'patient' in deciding to raise interest rates. On the earnings front, we get results from Domino's Pizza (DPZ), Office Depot (ODP), Comcast (CMCSA), Home Depot (HD), Toll Brothers (TOL), and Macy's (M) in the morning. Later in the day, earnings results from Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), DreamWorks Animation (DWA) and LendingClub (LC) will be released. Macy's will report its fourth quarter results as the retailer seems optimistic after upping its full year earnings guidance. Analysts believe Macy's earnings figures will be helped by strong sales during the holiday season. Investors will also look out for details on its recent acquisition of beauty products retailer Bluemercury. TheStreet's Kurumi Fukushima reports in New York.
