Yellen Sees Economy Improving, Warns of Housing Drag

Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen on Wednesday said lagging conditions in the U.S. housing sector and geopolitical tensions could hinder economic conditions. The central banker offered a safe speech and dodged pointed questions from legislators -- a sign that she's settling into the new position as well as her predecessors.
