Yahoo! Q3 Beats Street on Top and Bottom Lines, Mobile Sales Rise

Yahoo! posted third quarter earnings of $0.52 a share on revenue of $1.09 billion. Wall Street analysts were looking for $0.30 on sales of $1.04 billion. Last year, the online media provider earned $1.08 per share on revenue of $1.08 billion. As for details, Yahoo saw mobile revenue in excess of $200 million in the quarter. The number of ads sold increased approximately 24% compared to last year. Price-per-ad decreased approximately 24% compared to the prior year. As for search, the number of paid clicks was flat while price-per-click increased approximately 17% compared to the third quarter of 2013. TheStreet's Gregg Greenberg has details from New York.
