WPP CEO Martin Sorrell on AppNexus Stake, Why China is a Focus
WPP is raising its stake in AppNexus to 15% as it works to develop a new online media platform.
WPP Group's CEO and co-founder Sir Martin Sorrell says his firm is raising its stake in AppNexus to 15% as it works to develop a new online media platform that he hopes will be a formidable competitor to Google and Facebook. Sorrell, in an interview with TheStreet TV, said, 'What we’re providing our clients with is a platform that’s truly agnostic.' Even as more platforms enter the market and some companies decide to do their media buying in-house, there is no denying the landscape is shifting. For example, to capitalize on online growth in China (a factor in Alibaba's meteoric rise), WPP is due to announce its latest venture in the region.
