The world we live in right now celebrate entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship. But do you know that there is a specific day when people celebrate entrepreneurs.
Well, today, August 21 is the World Entrepreneur's Day. As per WorldEntrepreneursday.org, the purpose of this day is "to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership throughout the world."
"WED is the perfect day to celebrate the people who starts a business alone. WED is the day of founders, managers, producers, contractors, industrialists, innovators, administrators, designers and producers," they added.
"Building a business is stressful enough, and as we continue to maneuver through these times," he tweeted, "I hope you all are taking care of yourselves and remember that you are not alone.
The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) also tweeted the list of 5 tech entrepreneurs one should be following on this day.
The list starts with Michelle Zatlyn, COO of Cloudflare (NET) - Get Report, a web-infrastructure and website-security company. In 2009, Zatlyn, co-founded this company with current CEO Matthew Prince and Lee Holloway. The company which went public last year operates across more than 200 cities and 100 countries.
It's worth noting that its stock is up 136% year-to-date.
TheStreet's senior tech reporter Erich Jhonsa recently sat down with its CEO Matthew Prince where they discussed security, serverless computing and their growth.
“In March, as the world shifted to remote work, what we saw was that those physical appliances were getting overwhelmed. And as a result, businesses came to Cloudflare and said we need help," he said. "We need a cloud service that can scale to replace this physical hardware that we use. We are seeing so much demand from small businesses who were really struggling at the time."
