Katherine Ross [00:00:00]

Terrell Davis joins me. Terrell you're in Atlanta for the Super Bowl. I'm wondering what it's like to be a Super Bowl champ back. At the Super Bowl?

Terrell Davis [00:00:10]

It's always fun. Because every time you come down to the Super Bowl you get a chance to relive memories of the championships that I was able to help the team win and you get reacquainted with fellow teammates that you haven't seen in a long time. And then just the whole excitement of being at the Super Bowl. It's always fun. So as a kid I've always watched the Super Bowl and now I got a chance to be here every year covering it. And of course I had a chance to to win too so I'm always excited to come down here and have a good time.

Katherine Ross [00:00:38]

So you're both wearing Defy shirts. Can you explain what Defy is for us.

Terrell Davis [00:00:43]

We have this kind of a Defy nation sort of deal here. And really Defy, it's kind of an attitude. It's kind of you know what you can do. And people have been told in their entire life what they can't do and we want to say, they can Defy anything they want in life. And you know defy expectations, defy doubters, defy limitations. Defy everything and so that's what we stand for. But you can talk more about sort of the company itself.

Beau Wehrle [00:01:10]

Yeah I mean that themes into our our whole product. You know obviously what we're trying to do here is we're creating a CBD performance drink and performance line where I think we are defying in the space is that it's backed by real science. And we'll have real results behind it.

Katherine Ross [00:01:31]

How is CBD going to help athletes?

Terrell Davis [00:01:34]

Well from playing in the National Football League for over really eight years, and having a chance to talk with former players and current players and going through it myself, you know we were going through a whole time period where everything we were dealing with was kind of solved with medication, and being medicated. And having anti-inflammatories. I was on anti-inflammatories for many years for not only pain and joint discomfort but for my migraines. And we all know that the long term effects of being on anti inflammatory medicine is not good. So what we want to do is sort of an all natural solution to the problems that has been in professional sports for a very long time. I myself personally understand the effects of it. I've been on CBD for well over a year now and I can tell you that my body feels great. I have no more inflammation in my body, my knee, and my joint pain is gone. My migraines, I haven't taken migraine medicine for over a year. And you know players look for and they're searching for an alternative, natural solution for the things they're going through right now. So I know for a fact that CBD is a healthy alternative to the things that they've been taking so far.

As an investor why should I care about the CBD space?

Beau Wehrle [00:02:51]

In my mind, so I'm from the investment space. That's been my whole entire background. And to me this is one of the biggest opportunities that we'll see in our lifetime. Because we have an opportunity to go out and get real ground interaction in an area that is a new space.

Terrell Davis [00:03:10]

It's a new space and it's the most transformative ingredient that we've seen in the sports space in the last 10 years. So that alone is gonna attract investors to this space.

Beau Wehrle [00:03:21]

And to that point there's a lot of things that need to happen with regulation and compliance and standards of doing it the right way. And where we're ahead of the curve is that we are already following all those practices. You know our intention is to help create some of those policies, work directly with the FDA and do it the right way. Because right now it is somewhat of the wild west and it's very difficult to find the right solutions that we've found that are scientifically backed. So, we feel we have a real opportunity to be the mainstream gold standard brand in the market.

Katherine Ross [00:03:57]

And I'm wondering how interuptive can this industry be to the pharmaceutical industry?

Beau Wehrle [00:04:03]

You know you're already seeing the pharmaceutical industry wanting to get into it. You know out of all the big players in every space really, whether it's food, drink, agriculture, pharmaceutical, biotech, everybody is on the sidelines and figuring out how they're going to make their entry into the space. How it's going to disrupt the pharmaceutical space is just if you hear what TD said, this is a real solution to people who have a variety of different issues that they want to treat. That's a healthy alternative. It doesn't have negative side effects unlike a lot of pharmaceuticals do. So, people are seeking this out because it allows them an option that actually is going to benefit them and improve their lives instead of get them on you know a drug that might be actually detrimental at the same time and causing them poor health.

Katherine Ross [00:04:58]

  1. My final question for you all is what are your favorite Super Bowl snacks?

Terrell Davis [00:05:04]

Of course it's the Defy sports drink. That's my favorite snack. That's my favorite beverage. Three awesome flavors by the way. And to accompany that nice drink, I'm more of a wings guy. A dry wings. I can dip it in sauce. That's gonna of me. That's my snap.

Terrell Davis, two-time Super Bowl champion talked to TheStreet about CBD and why he decided to partner with Defy.

"I was on anti-inflammatories for many years for not only pain and joint discomfort but for my migraines. My migraines, I haven't taken migraine medicine for over a year," said Davis when asked how CBD is going to help athletes.

Davis has partnered with Defy to launch a CBD-infused sports drink.

When asked about the opportunities that CBD offers investors, Defy CEO, Beau Wehrle replied, "In my mind, so I'm from the investment space. That's been my whole entire background. And to me this is one of the biggest opportunities that we'll see in our lifetime. Because we have an opportunity to go out and get real ground interaction in an area that is a new space."

How can CBD disrupt the pharmaceutical sector?

"You know you're already seeing the pharmaceutical industry wanting to get into it.
