Who Might Buy CNN?

AT&T has no plans to sell CNN, but if the news broadcaster becomes a sticking point in its impending deal with Time Warner, these parties should be preparing their bids.

Though AT&T's (T) - Get Report CEO Randall Stephenson has been adamant in his refusal to sell CNN as the DOJ threatens AT&T's acquisition of Time Warner (TWX) , other media giants have more than a few reasons to pounce if the news broadcasting company becomes a sticking point.

Here's some possible contenders:

Bloomberg:
Has the cash
Could dominate both business & general news
Private ownership protects against politics

Sinclair:
Wants to compete with Fox News
Could use CNN's reach to do it

Verizon (VZ) - Get Report :
Needs more digital content
Already bet on AOL and Yahoo!

Jeff Bezos:
Has the wealth
Already remaking the Washington Post
Could add CNN content to Prime and Kindle plans
