Andrew McCabe will serve as interim FBI Director until a permanent replacement can be found. McCabe has served as the Deputy Director of the FBI since he was appointed by President Barack Obama in February 2016. He has also previously led the FBI's counter-terrorism and national security divisions.
McCabe has been criticized in the past for his wife's ties to Hillary Clinton, as Jill McCabe received campaign contributions from a Clinton operative in 2015.
