John Taylor carries an extensive economic resume, combining both academic and government experience. 

John Taylor is the George P. Shultz Senior Fellow in Economics at the Hoover Institution and also serves as the Mary and Robert Raymond Professor of Economics at Stanford University. 

From 2001-2005, he served as under secretary for international affairs in the U.S. Treasury.

He served on the President's Council of Economic Advisers under presidents Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and George H. W. Bush and also held positions in the Federal Reserve Banks of Dallas and Philadelphia.
