Amazon (AMZN) - Get Report , Microsoft (MSFT) - Get Report , Alphabet (GOOGL) - Get Report and Intel (INTC) - Get Report all reported much better than expected quarterly results on Thursday.
Amazon posted earnings per share of $0.52. topping forecasts of $0.03.
Intel's earnings of $1.01 a share topped estimates of $0.80. Microsoft posted earnings of $0.84 vs. forecasts of $0.72. Revenue in its Azure space grew 90% year-over-year.
