We're nearly halfway through earnings season.

So let's take a look at earnings season, and what investors should be watching for.

Jeff Marks, senior portfolio analyst with Jim Cramer's Action Alerts PLUS portfolio, sat down with TheStreet to break down the key things that he's watching when it comes to earnings season--and, of course, what he expects to hear when Apple AAPL reports earnings.

One thing Marks is expecting to hear about during the Apple conference call? Wearables.

And Marks isn't the only one watching wearables, Eric Jhonsa, tech columnist for TheStreet and Real Money, outlined wearables as one of the seven important things that he's watching in Apple's earnings reports.

"Three months ago, Apple beat June quarter revenue estimates thanks largely to a 48% sales increase (far above analyst estimates) for its Wearables, Home & Accessories segment. The Apple Watch and AirPods appear to have driven much of this growth, with Tim Cook mentioning Apple's "wearables" sales, which cover the Watch, AirPods and Beats headphones, grew "well over 50%," wrote Jhonsa.

Apple's earnings report comes two days after the company announced that it was releasing AirPods Pro. The AirPods will be available starting Wednesday, Oct. 30.

"Unlike the base version of the earbuds, the new AirPods Pro come with noise cancellation technology that's comparable to premium earphones made by others such as the Apple-owned Beats Studio lineup, Bose and others," reported TheStreet's tech reporter Annie Gaus.
