What to Watch Wednesday: Monsanto Reveals Recent Financial Data
In 'What to Watch on Wall Street' for Wednesday January 6, it's all about earnings. The big report to keep an eye on will be Monsanto (MON). For the first quarter of fiscal 2016, analysts are expecting the company to report a loss of $0.22 cents a share on $2.41 billion in revenue. Overall, both the top and the bottom line are projected to drop from a year ago. Major headwinds include currency fluctuations and reducing acres. However, analysts are hopeful on the company's restructuring efforts as it battles declining crop prices. Additionally, we have several reports due out on the economic calendar. In the morning, we have the ADP Employment report and the international trade, followed by factory orders and the ISM non-manufacturing index at 10 a.m. Then shortly after, we get the weekly oil inventory report and at 2 p.m., the Federal Open Market Committee will issue minutes of its meetings.
