What to Watch Wednesday: Citigroup, Netflix Report Earnings

Investors receive on Wednesday quarterly results from Citigroup (C) - Get Report and Netflix (NFLX) - Get Report . Before the markets open, analysts expect Citigroup to post fourth-quarter earnings of $1.12 a share on revenue of $17.3 billion. During the same quarter a year ago, the bank reported earnings of $1.06 a share on sales of $18.6 billion. Analysts will be examining Citi's capital cushion, which has strengthened in recent years.

After the markets close, Netflix is set to unveil fourth-quarter earnings.

As for economic data, the Consumer Price Index for December is out at 8:30 a.m. EST, while industrial production figures for December are released at 9:15 a.m. EST.

At 2 p.m. EST, the Federal Reserve's Beige Book is out and at 3 p.m. EST Fed Chair Janet Yellen is speaking.
