What to Watch Thursday: Will Verizon Ring In Robust Earnings?

Then after the markets close, Starbucks (SBUX) and American Express (AXP) will release their financial numbers. When Verizon Communications reports its latest figures, analysts are calling for $0.88 a share on revenue of over $34 billion. Both its top and bottom line are projection to increase from last year's numbers. During the same period the year prior, the company earned $0.71 a share on revenue of $33.19 billion The $4.4 billion acquisition of AOL earlier this year should give the top line a boost, analysts say. TheStreet's Portfolio Analyst Scott Berman said, 'I think Verizon is important because investors are really flocking towards the name right now, due to its high dividend.
