What to Watch Thursday: Oracle Earnings and Bank of England Meeting

On Thursday, September 15, investors will get quarterly results from Oracle (ORCL) - Get Report and a policy statement from the Bank of England. Oracle is expected to report earnings of $0.58 a share on sales of $8.7 billion. During the same quarter a year ago, the company reported earnings of $0.53 a share on revenue of $8.45 billion. The markets are also gearing up for the Bank of England's policy meeting - it's third one since the historic June 23 Brexit vote. At the central bank's last meeting in August, it initiated a cut to its benchmark interest rate. On the economic calendar, weekly jobless claims, the producer price index, retail sales and the Philadelphia Fed Business Outlook Survey are all released at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
