What to Watch Thursday: Kohl's, Nordstrom Report Earnings

On Thursday, February 23, investors await quarterly results from Kohl's Corporation (KSS) - Get Report and Nordstrom (JWN) - Get Report . Analysts expect Kohl's to report earnings of $1.33 a share on sales of $6.22 billion. During the same quarter a year ago, the company reported earnings of $1.58 a share on sales of $6.39 billion. Investment bank Barclays (BCS) - Get Report  also releases earnings on Thursday. On the economic calendar, at 8:30 a.m. EST, weekly jobless claims are released. At 8:35 a.m., Federal Reserve official Dennis Lockhart is speaking. At 11 a.m., the EIA Petroleum Status report is unveiled. At 1 p.m., Fed official Robert Kaplan delivers remarks.
