What to Watch Thursday: JPMorgan Chase Earnings, Bank of England Meeting
On Thursday, investors will get earnings from JPMorgan Chase (JPM) - Get Report and a possible rate cut by the Bank of England. Analysts expect JPMorgan to report second quarter earnings of $1.43 a share on revenue of $24.16 billion. During the same quarter last year, the company reported profit of $1.54 a share on revenue of $24.5 billion. BlackRock (BLK) - Get Report and Delta Air Lines (DAL) - Get Report also report earnings on Thursday. Meanwhile, investors also await a policy meeting from the Bank of England. Governor Mark Carney has hinted that an interest rate cut may be announced at this meeting, amid the economic uncertainty sparked by Brexit. On the economic calendar, weekly jobless claims are released at 8:30am Eastern, along with the June producer price index. Then at 10am, St. Louis Federal Reserve Bank President James Bullard gives the welcome address at a conference in St. Louis. Other Fed officials including Dennis Lockhart and Esther George speak later in the afternoon at other events. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
