For Thursday, August 27, TheStreet awaits the kick-off of the Federal Reserve's annual Jackson Hole Retreat. While Fed Chair Janet Yellen is not expected to attend, we'll be on the lookout for any clues about a potential interest rate hike before the end of the year. On the economic calendar, at 8:30 a.m., Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will be released. Second quarter GDP is expected to be over 3.2 percent, up from the original estimate of 2.3 percent. Also at 8:30 a.m., Jobless Claims are expected to be lower showing an improving labor market. At 10:00 a.m. the Pending Homes Sales Index, with an estimated 1 percent increase for July, could show more positive news for the housing market. Beauty retailer, Ulta Salon Cosmetics & Fragrances (ULTA), will release its 2015 second-quarter earnings tomorrow after the bell. Before the bell, earnings for Burlington Stores (BURL), Dollar General (DG), and Tiffany & Co. (TIF) will be released. TheStreet's Valerie Young reports in New York.
