What to Watch Thursday: Investors Eye Micron Technology Earnings
For Thursday October 1, TheStreet notes one big memory chipmaker coming out with its latest earnings. After the market close, Micron Technology (MU) is set to release its fourth quarter fiscal 2015 financial numbers. For the recent quarter, analysts expect the company to earn $0.33 a share on revenue of $3.56 billion. Earnings and revenue for the recent quarter are expected to decline from a year ago due to weakness in the PC sector. Additionally, there are a few things to point out on the U.S. economic calendar. We get motor vehicle sales for the month of September and then jobless claims at 8:30 a.m. Eastern. Next, we get the PMI manufacturing index at 9:45 a.m., followed by the ISM manufacturing index at 10 a.m. Finally, we wrap up the day with San Francisco Fed President John Williams making a speech in Salt Lake City, Utah.
