What to Watch Thursday: Investors Closely Eye Gap's Quarterly Data
For Thursday November 19, we're expecting more quarterly data from retailers along with a food products company. Before the market opens, we get the latest financial results from J.M. Smucker (SJM) and Best Buy (BBY). Then after the markets close, we hear from Gap (GPS). Investors are eyeing Gap's results when it releases its quarterly earnings. Analysts are estimating the company to earn $0.63 a share on nearly $4 billion in revenue. Both its profits and sales are expected to fall year-over-year. There are also several reports on the economic calendar. We have jobless claims coming out at 8:30 a.m. Eastern along with the Philadelphia Fed business outlook survey. Then, Fed speakers Dennis Lockhart and Stanley Fischer will deliver speeches in the afternoon. TheStreet's U-Jin Lee reports from Wall Street.
