What to Watch Thursday: How Will Nike Perform in its First Quarter?
For Thursday September 24, TheStreet notes several companies slated to release their recent financial results. Before the market open, expect to get earnings from homebuilding company KB Home (KBH). Then after the market close, we get quarterly results from Nike (NKE), Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY), and Pier 1 Imports (PIR). Investors are anticipating Nike to post strong first quarter earnings for fiscal 2016. Additionally, there are several key economic reports set to be released on Thursday. At 8:30 a.m. Eastern, we get durable goods orders along with jobless claims. Figures for jobless claims are expected to increase to 275,000, up from 264,000 in the week before. Lastly, we get the new home sales report at 10 a.m. Economists are calling for a 515,000 rate for the month of August, slightly up from the 507,000 rate in July.
