What to Watch on Wall Street for Thursday, October 2nd 2014
For Thursday, Oct. 2 we keep our eyes on biotech stocks as shares of Tekmira Pharmaceuticals surged on Wednesday after the first confirmed case on American soil. Health officials went door-to-door in search of those who came in contact with the patient, hoping to keep the killer virus contained. We watch three notable earnings, all reporting before the opening bell including international producer of alcoholic beverages, Constellation Brands, spice-maker McCormick & Company and electronic payment processor, Global Payments. On the U.S. economic calendar, jobless claims figures are coming out at 8:30am and the factory orders report will be out at 10am. Also, Federal Reserve President William Dudley is scheduled to speak in New York at noon and James Bullard will speak Thursday night in Mississippi.
