What to Watch on Wall Street for Thursday, October 16th 2014

On Thursday, October 16th, Apple is set to present its newest Apple iPads just one month after the company was on the stage to unveil its iPhone 6 and Apple Watch products. The release of OS X Yosemite and possibly some new Macs are also expected. The big earnings week continues with Google posting its third quarter results with the focus on its core advertising business. Investors will see whether declining costs per click will catch up to the global tech giant. Goldman Sachs will also post its third quarter earnings before the start of trading. Other notable earnings include Schlumberger, the world's largest oilfield services company, as well as a set of technology firms, Advanced Micro Devices and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company. Wall Street will also be watching some key economic reports on a data heavy Thursday.
