For the week of October 27, we watch stocks of airlines, pharmaceuticals and protective equipment companies as Ebola fears heighten. Starting Monday, U.S. health officials will begin monitoring travelers for 21 days who arrive from West Africa. The move comes after a New York doctor tested positive for the Ebola virus, sending stocks in several sectors downward. On the earnings front, Facebook is the highlight of the week as the social media giant is set to release its financial results on Tuesday. Starbucks will follow with its earnings report on Thursday and Exxon Mobil on Friday. We also look for some key economic data including durable goods orders, GDP and personal income. On Wednesday, the FOMC meeting announcement is expected after the committee said it will to end its bond-buying program.
