What to Watch on Wall Street for the Week of Nov. 17, 2014
For the week ahead, we take a look at key retail earnings, as well as economic data including FOMC minutes and housing reports to watch. On Wednesday November 19th, Target (TGT) is set to post third quarter results before the opening bell. So far this earnings season, retailers have painted a mixed picture of the upcoming holiday shopping season, which is normally the strongest quarter for the U.S. economy. Analysts believe Target has room for improvement as in-store foot traffic continues to struggle. We also note two more earnings including electronics retailer Best Buy (BBY) and The Gap (GPS). On the weekly economic calendar, we point out the index of industrial production, the producer price index, and the housing starts report. And finally, we watch for the latest minutes from the FOMC meeting, with the focus again on the timing of the interest rate hikes.
