The bond market will be closed for the Veterans Day holiday on Tuesday but the stock market is still open for trading. On Wednesday, Congress returns for its post-election session as lawmakers will try to reach a deal by December 11 to extend spending authority for federal programs. On the earnings front, major retailers are reporting ahead of the holiday shopping season including Macy's Inc (M), J.C. Penney Co Inc (JCP), and Walmart Stores, Inc (WMT). Also, we look at notable economic data on the weekly calendar. On Thursday, we get weekly jobless claims and the federal budget. On Friday, October retail sales figures will be released.
