What to Watch on Wall Street for the Week of Dec. 1, 2014
For the week of December 1st, Wall Street is back to work after the Thanksgiving holiday, kicking off the top of the month with some earnings reports. On Monday, Thor Industries (THO) will post financial results after the market closes. On Wednesday morning, we look to apparel retailer Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) as it releases earnings in the midst of the holiday shopping season. And on Thursday, we get numbers from Dollar General (DG) before the opening bell. The discount retail chain has been in the headlines as it battles it out with Dollar Tree (DLTR) to acquire Family Dollar (FDO). Dollar General made the higher bid, but its deal also has higher regulatory risk. The company has said that it is in talks with the Federal Trade Commission over the number of stores it will have to sell to gain approval to buy Family Dollar. We also note the key data on the economic calendar in the busy upcoming week.
