Friday, January 2nd is the first day of trading in 2015. Traders are back at work after the day off to celebrate New Year's Day. There are no earnings coming out, but we note key data on the U.S. economic calendar. The PMI manufacturing index will be out at 9:45am eastern, followed by construction spending numbers from the Commerce Department and the ISM Manufacturing index at 10. The Institute for Supply Management is scheduled to report its December manufacturing composite index, after factories in November expanded. TheStreet's Kurumi Fukushima reports from New York.
