The markets are gearing up for a busy week in Europe, according to Antonia Oprita, senior editor and columnist for Real Money. On Tuesday, the UK consumer price index will be released. 'Inflation has been increasing steadily since last October,' she said. 'In March it was up 0.5 percent year-over-year and with the referendum on whether the UK should leave the European Union approaching, the pound is likely to take another dip.' A weaker pound could push inflation higher. On Thursday, the minutes of the European Central Bank's April meeting will be released. During the meeting, central bankers left key interest rates unchanged and in negative territory, in an effort to spur bank lending and lift sluggish economic growth. TheStreet's Scott Gamm has details from Wall Street.
