What to Watch Friday: Jobs Report, Consumer Credit, Cigna Earnings
All eyes will be on the latest jobs report out on Friday morning, after Fed chair Janet Yellen hinted at a December rate hike if the U.S. economy remains on track. Wednesday's weaker than expected private sector jobs report has some analysts predicting that the Fed will delay raising rates until early next year. It's expected that Friday's numbers will show the creation of roughly 190 thousand jobs through October. The unemployment rate is expected to drop 1 tenth to 5.0 percent. Also on the economic calendar we have the latest consumer credit report for September. Analysts are expecting a rising ratio of debt to credit and increased spending in the run up to the holidays. In addition, Fed official James Bullard will be speaking on the economy and Monetary policy at 7.30 am. With earnings season coming to a close we'll be seeing earnings reports from health insurance providers Cigna (CI) and Humana (HUM), both will post earnings before the opening bell.
