What to Watch Friday: Consumer Spending and Inflation Data

On Friday, September 30, investors await key consumer data points. At 8:30 a.m. EDT, personal income, consumer spending and the Fed's favorite inflation measure, the personal consumption expenditure price index, all for August, are released. All three measures are expected to rise 0.2% month-over-month. On the earnings calendar, McCormick & Company (MKC) - Get Report releases results before the markets open. At 9:45 a.m., the Chicago PMI for September is out, along with consumer confidence for September at 10 a.m. The Baker-Hughes (BHI) rig count is unveiled at 1 p.m. Eastern.
