What to Watch Friday: Citigroup, Wells Fargo Report Earnings; June Retail Sales
On Friday, July 15, investors will get earnings from Citigroup (C) - Get Report and Wells Fargo (WFC) - Get Report , along with retail sales figures for June. Citigroup announces second quarter results before the markets open. Analysts expect the bank to report earnings of $1.10 a share on sales of roughly $17.5 billion. During the same quarter last year, earnings stood at $1.51 a share on sales of $19.16 billion. Wells Fargo is also set to report second quarter earnings before the markets open. Analysts expect earnings of $1.01 a share on sales of $22.17 billion. During the same quarter last year, the bank reported profit of $1.03 a share on revenue of $21.3 billion. On the economic calendar, June retail sales are due out at 8:30am Eastern, they are expected to rise 0.1 percent month-over-month. The June consumer price index is also due out at 8:30am and is expected to increase by 0.3 percent during the month. At 9:15, industrial production for June is released.
