What to Watch Friday: Can General Electric Light Up on Earnings?

For Friday October 16, earnings are continuing to roll out. TheStreet highlights a few major companies that are set to release their latest financial data, including, General Electric (GE), Honeywell International (HON), and SunTrust Banks (STI). These three will report before the market opens. The one investors will be monitoring is General Electric. For the third quarter of fiscal 2015, analysts are calling for earnings of $0.26 a share on around $28.5 billion in revenue. There are several things to note on the economic calendar. First, we get the industrial production report at 9:15 a.m. Eastern. Numbers are expected to be weak, similar to September's decline. Then, we get the job openings and labor turnover survey shortly after. At the same time, the consumer sentiment comes out. Last but not least, we end the day with the Treasury international capital, which tracks the flow of Treasury securities, corporate bonds, and equities in and out of the U.S. TheStreet's U-Jin Lee reports in New York.
