What to Watch Friday: American Airlines Earnings, Fourth-Quarter GDP

On Friday, investors will get quarterly results from American Airlines (AAL) - Get Report and the release of fourth-quarter gross domestic product. Analysts expect American Airlines to post earnings of 92 cents a share on sales of $9.74 billion. During the same quarter a year ago, the airline posted earnings of $2 a share with revenue of $9.63 billion. AbbVie (ABBV) - Get Report  , Chevron (CVX) - Get Report and Honeywell (HON) - Get Report also release earnings on Friday. As for economic data, durable goods orders for December and a reading on fourth quarter GDP are both released at 8:30 a.m. EST. Then at 1 p.m., the weekly Baker Hughes (BHI) rig count report is out.
