Brexit negotiations are shifting into high gear on Monday with the fifth round of divorce talks talking place between Britain and the European Union in Brussels.

"The talks are not going well between the EU and the UK," said Real Money sr. editor and columnist Antonia Oprita, based in London, adding that Monday's talks are "make or break."

She pointed to remarks from industry groups in Germany warning of a "cliff-edge" Brexit - that is, a UK exit from the EU with no deal.

UK citizens voted to leave the European Union on June 23, 2016.
