The social media site will launch a transparency center which will provide users with information about the adverts they are seeing. Users will now be able to find out how much a political advertiser has spent and who is funding the advertising campaign. To make them more identifiable, political ads in the future will feature a visual indicator.
Twitter is also updating is policies for political ads which will require political advertisers self-identify as such and will limit their targeting options.
