What's Ahead Wednesday: Mondelez Int'l. Will Likely Face Challenges
In 'Whats Ahead on Wall Street' for Wednesday April 27, keep an eye out on several major companies telling us how they did in the latest quarter. The day begins with Comcast (CMCSA) - Get Report , Boeing (BA) - Get Report , and Mondelez International (MDLZ) - Get Report posting earnings followed by Facebook (FB) - Get Report and PayPal (PYPL) - Get Report in the afternoon. When Mondelez International reports its first quarter results, analysts are looking for earnings of $0.39 a share on revenue of around $6.5 billion dollars. Both the top and bottom line are expected to drop year-over-year. This is largely due to foreign exchange, since 80 percent of its sales come from international markets. But thanks to its 3.5 billion-dollar restructuring plan, savings from that have been used to fund marketing initiatives, which will likely give revenue a boost. On the economic calendar, investors will get pending home sales and the weekly oil inventory data. Then in the afternoon, the Federal Open Market Committee is expected to announce its decision on interest rates. Expectations are for the Fed to hold rates steady.
