What's Ahead Wednesday: Keep an Eye on Monsanto's Quarterly Results
In 'What to Watch on Wall Street' for Wednesday April 6, we've got three major companies reporting earnings. In the morning, both Monsanto (MON) and Constellation Brands (STZ) - Get Report will release their quarterly results, followed by Bed Bath & Beyond (BBBY) - Get Report in the afternoon. All eyes will be on Monsanto. Analysts expect both the top and bottom line to decline year-over-year. For the latest quarter, Wall Street is looking for earnings of $2.44 a share on revenue of under $5 billion. Overall, results will be dampened by the volatile global agricultural industry. On top of this, the stronger dollar will likely hurt the seed giant's international sales. On the economic calendar, we start off the day with the weekly oil inventory data. Then in the afternoon, Cleveland Fed Head Loretta Mester is set to give a speech followed by minutes from the Federal Open Market Committee. Later that night, Dallas Fed Head Rob Kaplan will be speaking in Texas. TheStreet's U-Jin Lee reports from New York.
