"Winfrey and Apple will create original programs that embrace her incomparable ability to connect with audiences around the world," Apple said in a press release.
The move only bolsters Apple's fast growing subscription model, according to Steven Goldbach, chief strategy officer at Deloitte and author of the new book "Detonate."
"Any good subscription business needs to have a reason for customers to come and subscribe," Goldbach said, adding that subscription models "take the friction out of buying" and provides companies with more predictable revenue sources.
