TheStreet spoke with John Carreyrou, a reporter with The Wall Street Journal, who brought to light Theranos' issues in a bombshell article in 2015.

Carreyrou expects Theranos to claim bankruptcy in the coming months and expects criminal charges for founder Elizabeth Holmes.

In March, the Securities and Exchange Commission charged Holmes with massive fraud and she paid a $500,000 fine.

Carreyrou is author of the new book Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup.
