Matt Lauer is the latest high-profile personality to be fired for "inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace." NBC Universal announced on Wednesday that Lauer has been dismissed after nearly two decades of hosting "Today" after a detailed complaint from a colleague.
"While it is the first complaint about his behavior in the over 20 years he's been at NBC News, we were also presented with reason to believe this may not have been an isolated incident," NBC News President Andrew Lack wrote in a company memo.
Lauer leaves behind a two-year contract that awarded him a salary of $20 million per year. He has hosted Today since 1997.
