Why Star Trek: Discovery Goes Where None of the Other Franchise Has Gone Before
Fans finally got their first taste of Star Trek: Discovery. CBS (CBS) - Get Report premiered the series on broadcast after NFL football and '60 Minutes.' Watching the rest of the series requires a subscription to its OTT streaming service CBS All Access.
Even if you are not a Trekkie, there are so many reasons why you will want to check Discovery out out.
This series is set ten years prior to the original series, which puts it in the prime timeline before JJ Abrams' Trek films.
Composer Jeff Russo wrote a new theme song and recorded it with a 60-piece orchestra.
The storylines from previous Star Trek series were told from the point of view of the captain. For Discovery, the audience will be old through Michael Burnham, the first officer of the U.S.S. Shenzhou.
