IAC/Interactive's (IAC - Get Report) Vimeo video platform has no plans to play second fiddle to Alphabet's (GOOGL - Get Report) YouTube, Facebook (FB - Get Report) or even Netflix (NFLX - Get Report) .
"We've competed with these internet giants for a long-time, and they are partners too -- one of our skill-sets we bring is the ability to work with these competitors," IAC/Interactive Chief Financial Officer Glenn Schiffman told TheStreet.
In late 2017, Vimeo acquired Livestream to begin offering live content. The enhancements to the platform have helped lift Vimeo's average revenue per user metric, IAC/Interactive CEO Joey Levin said on a first quarter earnings call.
Schiffman adds that he sees the "gold rush" in video continuing, leaving opportunities for all parties to prosper.
