General Electric (GE) is making some major changes.

It's spinning off its healthcare unit and selling its stake in Baker Hughes (BHGE) , an oil field services company.

Kenny Polcari, a managing director with O'Neil Securities, welcomes the news, which shows the company is becoming more focused.

Polcari said GE become too big under former CEO Jeff Immelt.
