Wells Fargo's Chief Equity Strategist Stuart Freeman says earnings season so far is pointing to an improving economy which should bode well for consumer discretionary and technology stocks. According to Thomson Reuters, of the 240 companies in the S&P 500 that have reported earnings, 67.9% have reported earnings above expectations, 11.3% reported earnings in line with forecasts and 20.8% reported earnings below analyst estimates.
