Weather Snarls Traffic on Roads, Airports Disrupting Business
Weather has become an issue this week as another bout of winter storms hit parts of the nation. A system dumped snow on the southwest and midwest. Dallas airport has canceled and delayed hundreds of flights. At Chicago's O'Hare airport 5000 flights were impacted. People in the northeast are getting ready for the first winter storm of the season, where some areas could see 12 inches of snow. JP Morgan Chase (JPM) says it will increase deposit rates for some clients in January. It would be one of the first banks to do so since the Federal Reserve hike interest rates earlier this month. Whole Foods (WFM) is paying $500,000 to the city of New York after the city's Department of Consumer Affairs said in June that it found the grocer mislabeled weights on foods, overcharging customers. Whole Foods did not admit any wrongdoing but said it would pay the fine to "get the issue behind it".
