Ford (F) - Get Report chief financial officer Bob Shanks said the automaker is in the "third or fourth inning" of its fitness plan, which includes cost cuts and a pivot towards autonomous vehicles.

Ford posted lower than expected fourth quarter earnings and revenue on Wednesday. 

The company sold some 896,000 F-Series trucks in 2017, up 9.3% year-over-year.
