Warren Buffett Boxer Shorts and Dairy Queen Ice Cream Bars: The Must-Haves for Omaha Shoppers
Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) shareholders in Omaha, Nebraska for Warren Buffett's annual meeting spent Friday shopping around for bargains. Thousands descended on the CenturyLink Center, site of Saturday's annual meeting, for what's known as Shareholder Shopping Day. The event featured various Berkshire Hathaway companies selling goods at reduced prices for shareholders. This marked the first time the convention center opened for shopping on a Friday, and shareholders were eager to spend some time there. Dairy Queen, Fruit of the Loom, Brooks Running, and See's Candies were a few of the companies ringing up big sales. A Dairy Queen executive told TheStreet's Rhonda Schaffler that he expected to sell a record number of ice cream treats over the weekend. Popular items sold included boxer shorts featuring Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger, a commemorative book marking fifty years of Warren Buffett's leadership at Berkshire Hathaway, and boxes of chocolate.
