Walmart, Viacom Earnings: What to Watch on Wall Street November 13th

On Thursday, November 13th retail giant Walmart Stores Inc (WMT) will release its fiscal third quarter earnings before the opening bell. The company hasn't seen positive comparable sales growth for almost six quarters, and cut its full year sales growth outlook last month. The company recently announced that it's trying out a new Black Friday tactic. Instead of sales lasting a day, Walmart is extending the discounted Black Friday sales to five days. Also, look out for earnings from the parent company of MTV Networks and Comedy Central, Viacom Inc (VIAB) and department store chain Nordstrom, Inc (JWN). On the economic calendar, we note weekly jobless claims, the September JOLTS report and the federal budget report for October from the U.S. Treasury.
